Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro Launch August 20

The Realme 5 series is set to launch in India on August 20 with hardware and four-camera setup set at the expected price per, here's a look at everything we know of the Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro so far.

Realme is just a few days away from the announcement of Realme 5 series. The organization has set a capacity in New Delhi on Tuesday, August 20, where it will dispatch Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro cell phones. They are likely to disrupt the market by being the first quad camera phones in their respective regions. Realme will succeed to the Realme 3 series by offering upgraded cameras, better hardware and attractive design for the 5 series.

Some important details about the Realme 5 phone have been revealed in the lead up to the Realme days launch event. We know that both phones will feature quad camera systems and we also know that at least one of them will pack a large 5,000mAh battery, both of which are features for Realme for the first time.

Realme 5 Series Expected Price in India

Since the Realme 5 series will still succeed the fresh Realme 3 line, we expect Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro and because Realme 3 and Realme 3 Pro will be priced around the same ballpark.

Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth has already confirmed that Realme 5 will launch in India under Rs 10,000. Past reports suggest Realme 5 will be priced starting at Rs 8,999, much like Realme 3.

There is no word on Realme 5 Pro pricing, but we expect it to fall under Rs 15,000 for two reasons. First, Realme 3 Pro was launched at 13.999, so we assume Realme 5 Pro will be priced around the same number. Realme says that Realme 5 Pro will be the first 48MP four-camera phone in its segment.

For its availability, Flipkart has already established a one-page Realme 5 series, which means the phone will be available on the e-commerce platform. They will also go on sale at Realme.com and are expected to sell through Realme retail stores across India.

Realme 5, Realme 5 Pro Expected Specifications

Realme has been careful not to reveal too much about the Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro design. We can't talk about what the phone looks like on display, but we do know that they won't be proven with vertically stacked cameras and teasers as a rear-mounted fingerprint.

The camera is, of course, the USP of the Realme 5 series. Both Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro will come with four cameras. Realme 5 will be the first phone with a four-camera system under Rs 10,000 while Realme 5 Pro will be the first 48MP four-camera phone. With four rear cameras, the company offers more options for customers wanting to capture a picture.

We know that Realme 5 Pro will get a 48MP Sony IMX586 main camera with ultra wide angle sensor, 4cm macro lens and portrait camera. The Realme 5 16MP main camera is rumored to get the idea while other Sensor Pro models are expected to be the same. Companies like Samsung have offered wide angle cameras on affordable phones, while the added macro lens will definitely give a boost against the Realme competition.

The Realme 5 duo will also come with upgraded processors compared to the Realme 3 series. Realme has confirmed that Realme 5 will be powered by a Qualcomm chipset that has not yet been launched in India. As one Geekbench previously listed, it looks like the Realme 5 will be powered by the 665 Society in Snapdragon. It will be interesting to see that as of August 21st, Xiaomi will launch the Mi A3 in India with the same Snapdragon 665 chip.

As for Realme 5 Pro, we have little to no information about its processor. You can get the same Snapdragon 710 Society or some rumors suggesting that Realme 3 Pro and Realme X or the company can upgrade it to Snapdragon 730 Society in a Snapdragon 712.

Realme 5 is another USP battery. The company announced that the Realme 5 will pack 5,000mAh batteries, which is the largest for Realme phones yet. To remember, Realme 3 comes with 4,230mAh battery, which means Realme 5 is getting 770mAh more battery, which should be translated to longer battery life at a single charge.

For Realme 5 Pro Coming, battery capacity has not yet been announced, but the company has confirmed VOOC 3.0 fast charging support. Both Realme 3 and Realme X also come with VOOC 3.0, which can charge 100 phones in about 80 minutes. Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro will ship Android 9 pies based on ColorOS 6.
